We opened last week with beautiful weather and a lot of smiling faces as teams took the field in excitement and anticipation of the first pitch, the first out, the first at bat!

We would like to thank all of our parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles/etc. for your patience during the pre-season transition.  It is a lot of work coordinating practice and game times, uniform sizing, ordering and delivery, gathering coaches and assistants, and picture days for 8 divisions and over 30 teams. While it all may not go as smooth as we hope, we are still able to put smiles on the kids faces and that's the most important thing.

As the season gets started and we have the potential for game cancellations and make-up games, due to weather, we will do our best to post all cancellations on our facebook page as soon as we make the decision.  Please visit our page by clicking on the facebook link in the left column or by clicking here.

Remember a good rule of thumb is if you do not hear from your coach, then the game is still on.  We have a few fields that drain very well and while it may rain early in the day, by afternoon the fields could be fine.  Please do not assume your child's game is cancelled.

Thank you again for your continued support in making the 2015 season a success.

Little League Draft Details

On March 1 we will be holding drafts and uniform sizing for all divisions EXCEPT pony league.  (Pony League will be handled separately in coordination with the school teams schedules.)
This event will take place at Sherman Elementary.
We ask that each child come at their division’s designated time (a few minutes early would help with the check in process).
There will be a lot of things going on that day:
1.        You’ll be able to verify your personal contact information – so we know we’re giving your coach the correct info.
2.       Fast Pitch Softball, Coach Pitch, Minor and Major League  players will go through an evaluation (please dress accordingly and bring your ball glove with you).
3.       You’ll be able to choose your uniform sizes – actual samples will be available to try on.
4.       TeeBall and Rookie Machine Pitch players will be able to find out who their coach is and meet them.
5.       Parent meetings will be held with evaluations to let you know of the changes happening at Grant County Park and within the league.
6.       You can order your spirit wear – this will be the only order we place this year.
7.       You can pre-order this year’s program and purchase any leftover programs from years’ past.
8.     You can turn in birth certificates or background check and complete your parent code-of-conduct.
Designated Times
9:00 All Fast Pitch Softball (Evaluation, Parent Meeting, then Uniform Sizing)
10:00  Rookie Machine Pitch (Parent Meeting then Uniform Sizing)
10:30  Coach Pitch (Evaluation, Parent Meeting, then Uniform Sizing)
12:30  TeeBall (Parent Meeting then Uniform Sizing)
1:00 Major League Baseball (Evaluation, Parent Meeting, then Uniform Sizing)
2:00 Minor League Baseball (Evaluation, Parent Meeting, then Uniform Sizing)
If you’re unsure of what division your child is in, don’t be afraid to ask.
If you’re not available to come this day, please let me know what sizes your child would need for their shirt and pants.  I will also need hat sizes for coach pitch, minor, and major league baseball.  It is very important that I have these quickly because we have to get uniforms ordered right away so we will have them in time for games/pictures.
If you have multiple children, the ones that are going through evaluations should report at their scheduled times.  Rookie machine pitch and tee ball children can come during their siblings time to get their uniform sized.
If you know of anyone that hasn’t registered that’s planning to, please encourage them to get registered!  Registration will be shut off soon and it’s so important for us to have accurate numbers so we can have enough coaches.
