The 2011 season is taking shape

WOW! Who knew how much work went into planning a little league season? Okay so the volunteers before us know but your GCLL board team has a new found respect for the time, effort and work that goes into pulling this together for our community. We are so excited about the progress we've made and we have a few things to share with you.

PLEASE share this post with on your Facebook page (or other social media) to help us get the word out. There is a link at the bottom of this post that will make it easy.

Online registration will begin December 1st and be open till February 15th. You will be able to access the online registration on this blog. We are planning on having two live registration events and will post the dates, times and location for that as soon as we can.

The registration fees for 2011 are as follows:
T-ball – $75.00*
Youth – $100.00*
* We are currently trying to figure out what the discounted rate will be for registering siblings. We will post this when online registration begins.

HELP WANTED!
We are in need of some more help. Specifically we are looking to fill two positions. A Player Agent and a safety director. Now don't let the titles scare you. I've outlined the role responsibilities below.

Player Agent: We are looking for someone to help with two specific tasks. 1) Help parents and kids the day of live registrations to figure out what division they should sign up for. 2) Help organize the players the day of the draft to participate in activities that will highlight players talents. The player agent will not be required to be at practices or games.
Safety Director: We are looking for someone with a medical background to help us deliver clear instruction to coaches on what to do in the event of an emergency and to help us make sure access to first aids kits is easy for coaches during practice and games. The safety director will not be required to be at practices or games.
Coaches: We are in need of coaches and assistants. Coaches will be responsible for scheduling practices and communicating vital information to your team members throughout the season. The GCLL will be supporting these communication efforts. Coaches and assistants will be responsible for running all practices and games. Don't worry if you've never coached before. If you have a desire to be a coach we will help you learn this role.
So you want to help out? That's GREAT – Click here ----->  Pick me! and email us today.

Welcome!

Whether you are new to the Grant County Little League (GCLL) program or have been a participant for many years we are so excited to have you as part of the team this year. With this new season starting you might notice a few changes within our program. We have a new league commissioner, his name is, Jamey Lewis. This title was passed down to him from his good friends Bobby Kemper and Jamey Fryman. With the passing of the commissioner baton we have also added new board members this year. You can read more about all of us under the Board Member tab at the top of this blog. We are looking forward to meeting all of you.

We do have a few simple goals for this season.
1. Play ball and have fun.
2. Grow the league and have fun.
3. Offer more interaction for the board members, players and their families to connect with one another - and did we mention, have fun.

Interest in our league has increased over the past few years and as a result we have seen a steady growth in participation and that is due to the countless volunteers, sponsors, players and families who have dedicated their time and energy in the past. We also want to thank the parents and supporters of the league, without you this program wouldn't be possible.

We'll be gearing up for our 2011 season registration later this year so look for more information on dates and ways to register.
