Weeknight Games

We do not have the ability to play night games at Bobby Gibson because the electric lines were burnt. So weeknight games will be moved to other fields in the county.

The majors games scheduled for this Tuesday (5/29) will be played on Wednesday (5/30) at Piddle Park. The Rattlers vs. Tigers will play at 6:00. The Rangers vs. Blasters will play at 7:45. If you have questions about this schedule change please contact your coach.

Bobby Gibson Field Update

We are so happy that ALL of the Games will be played at Grant County Park on Saturday!

We have been working hard to bounce back from Monday's loss to get ready for this Saturday. Lots of people and businesses have made it possible for us to offer concessions at the Bobby Gibson field. We know several of you want to help and the best way would be to stop by one of our concession stands on Saturday. We will be serving drinks, chips, gum, sunflower seeds and hot dogs. We will have a tent set up where the old concession building was. And the back concession will be open with our usual menu. With a special thanks to GC park, Bingham tents, McDonald's, Walmart, Coca-Cola, Kohl's & WCPO.

FYI: We did loose our light on the Bobby Gibson field as a result of the fire. Therefore weekday games in the evening may still be moved to other fields in the county if their game time will need lights to play. Please stay in touch with your coach and team mom to make sure you know what location you are playing at.

We appreciate everyone's patience and support.
Help us spread the word! The league needs your support at the concession stands now more than ever.

See you Saturday!

Can you help pass out Arson Fliers?

The Grant County Parks and Recreational office is organizing volunteers to walk through communities in Crittenden tomorrow to pass out flyers to help us find information about the arson fire that destroyed the Bobby Gibson field house.

If you would like to help tomorrow, please come to the park office at the Grant County Park at Noon.

A Sad Day for GCLL

Our league has had a major set back. Our beloved Bobby Gibson Concession building burnt down this morning. The police are investigating it as an Arson case and are offering a $1000.00 reward for any tips. You can call this number if you know any information that might help us with finding who is responsible for this fire. 1.800.272.7766.

The fire started between 6:30 and 7:00 this morning. We have lost everything in the concession building and the building will be torn down after the investigation is completed. The board of directors have all ready been working hard to figure out what and how we can provide for the needs of the ball players and families this week and in the weeks coming.

PLEASE if you have questions about your specific games contact your coach or team mom. The Majors game that is scheduled for the Bobby Gibson field tonight will be moved to Williamstown. We will post a new location for Tuesdays games as soon as we have it worked out. We are hoping to play Thursdays and Saturday's games at Bobby Gibson if we are given the permission to do so.

Our concessions director Cathy Hoehn is working hard to figure out a plan B for concessions at the front field but for now we are going to try to at the bare minimum to have coolers with drinks but it would not be a bad idea for each family or team to rally and come prepared with drinks and snacks handy for their games. Especially as the temperatures rise this week. Coca Cola has offered us several rolling cooler barrels to help us with our attempt to provide cold beverages to you in the front field. This will make this monumental task a little easier for us. The back concession building will operate as usual for the games in the back of the park.

We have been talking with Grant County Park Director, Tabitha Clemons, and we WILL REBUILD! Unfortunately it will make finishing this season harder on all of us and our volunteers but we have proven that a little hard work doesn't deter us from making things happen. The people who have been committed to bringing a fun, safe and enjoyable experience too you and your kids, the last two years, are the same people who are working behind the scenes as I type this message to figure out what's next for our league.

The games will go on!!! Watch Channel 9 tonight at 5:30 for this story to be aired on the news and check WCPO website for more details. We will try to post information and ways people can help as soon as decisions are made.

In the mean time we are remembering Bobby Gibson and all he did to lay a great foundation for baseball in Grant County. It was on his shoulders that we began our seasons of building. This will slow us down but it will not stop us from what we love! Baseball and kids!

This season has started off very rainy. We have decided to offer a Rain Out Hotline Phone Number to help us communicate game delays or cancellations due to our parents more effectively. Please help spread the word! This will not replace coaches or team mom's communicating delays or cancellations, this is just another option for our parents to stay informed.

Our New Rainout Number:

It will be updated hourly if the weather forecast is calling for rain.
Always check 1 Hour before Game Time!
