Draft Date, Coaches and Team Moms
The GCLL board continues to make progress getting ready for the 2012 season. This post has general announcements about upcoming dates you should be aware of, our coaching list to date and what we still need help with. Hey, do you want to be a Team Mom? TEAM MOMS (if you want volunteer click here to let us know or to check if there is still a need)
We are excited to announce that we will be using the Team Mom strategy this year. We have seen and heard how beneficial this volunteer role has been in other sport programs such as soccer and football. We are also really excited about the energy of the Moms who have already stepped up and said yes to serving as a Team Mom. But, we still have some open spots for this position. So what is a Team Mom?
A Team Mom is a mom of a ball player who will assist the coaches on her child team. Some of the ways we think Team Moms will help will be with communication between coaches and parents. Organizing parents volunteer efforts, collecting necessary paperwork and or providing paperwork that parents may need. Also she will be a point of contact for parents to ask questions. We think this will also help foster a stronger team bond between parents, coaches and kids.

Volunteer Background Check Guidelines
As an organized League we know how important it is to have volunteers. It is also important that background checks are done for every volunteer. It is Little League® and Grant County Little League's desire to make sure that every child is in a safe environment when participating with any of our league functions. Little League International has a strict guideline for these rules and they will be carried out by Grand County Little League. We hope to see lots of families coming up to register at the Grant County Library today between 2 and 5:00. If you can't make it today the online registration is open and will be open through the end of February.
We have some birth certificates from last year but not ALL so please don't forget to make a copy of your birth certificate(s) to bring up with you.
Cash and Check only.

Despite the icy morning we think that the roads should be clear by our live registration start time of 2:00. We hope to see lots of families coming up to register at the Grant County Library. We will be wrapping things up today about 5:00. If you can't make it today we will have another live registration next Saturday from 2-5 at the library as well.
We have some birth certificates from last year but not ALL so please don't forget to make a copy of your birth certificate(s) to bring up with you.
